Karissa wrote her first story in second grade. Second grade is long gone, but not her love for writing.

She was born in Oregon and spent 13 years in that beautiful state. Louisiana was home from age 14-23, and Texas now claims residence.

She enjoys reading, speaking to every cat she sees, and exploring the great outdoors. In no particular order.
Karissa graduated college with a B.A. in Communications, concentrating in Public Relations and minoring in Business Administration.

One Cup Carver is a creative outlet and recipe box - from food to DIYs, travel to literature reviews. Karissa hopes her blog brings joy, reflection, and conversation.

A lifestyle blog may cover many areas, but Karissa is especially interested in faith-based blog posts. Though she's excited to share about good food, good places and good things, her prayer is to be able to use her words and platform as a vessel of encouragement, of thought-provoking discussion, and of love to humankind.

“It’s true, she wants the writers she admires to respect her work, but she also wants people who don’t usually read books to enjoy these stories too. She doesn’t want to write a book that a reader won’t understand and would feel ashamed for not understanding.” - Sandra Cisneros

"My goal? Connect with non-readers. Connect with voracious readers. With people who aren’t educated and people who are. Make it real. Make it simple. Make it good." - Karissa Carver
